Cooking

On a rather hungry morning, one was thinking; since the French language is being learnt, lets dabble a tad bit into French cooking.

Hence, this cook textbook was bought. Deemed a textbook because it’s like some super cooking manual where each nuance in cooking is elaborated thoroughly, a simple example; how to hold a chef’s knife properly. I likey!

It’s a really old book too, first published in 1961. And another great thing about it is how the ingredients stated are catered for the general purpose American market which should be a palpable likeness to ours.

Purchased too a chef knife and a skillet. Major likings towards hobbies are its gadgets, tools and equipments hence the blatant amazement of a 5 piece exquisite knife set when eyes were set upon them. Fuiyoh!

Anyhow, first attempt was Potage Parmentier; simply Leek and Onion Soup. Turned out rather ugly aesthetically but tasted not too bad.

Then today, one tried Supremes De Volaille A Brun; namely Chicken Breasts Sautéed in French Butter. Nah:

Tasted quite nice actually. Hee.

Going to try making Crepes next. The said book even has step by step diagrams on how to flip crepes. Haha.

On a side note, I do miss the ones you made… =(
