Malaysia?

One has just watched the BBC news hard talk thingy with our foreign minister. I actually commend him on being level headed and not lashing back angrily at the rather indenturing questioning approach by the lady. I say bullshit to the comments by most of the Youtube watchers then the minister’s replies. Comments were mostly complains and personification that one race is a victim of another race’s domination.

On the economic front, I don’t think the financial edge given by the Government to the Malays is such a big brick wall for other races to earn a living. A true business man knows how to use adversities to his or her advantage and it’s a fact that in the business world, ironically it actually helps other races in their earnings. Don’t you think if the government did not implement such an economic balancing act, the dissatisfaction level would be high and we won’t be able to eat in Murni’s without getting our heads chopped off. Don’t start the bullshit with the Malays are racist and stuff, every race has their fair share of racism. If someday some other race goes to China and dominates the economy, the Chinese would most probably go on a chopstick poke their damn ears kind of rampage. No? Like he said, polarization is indeed a global issue.

On religion, we still can go to church and have huge church buildings. The element of having other non Islam convert to the religion by gunpoint is highly unlikely in our country. It’s like, when there’s too much peace and when a small alarm rings, we halter scatter like mad animals thinking its dooms day.

On education, about Malays getting more places in the universities. So what, it’s not like there are no other options and that the local universities are that great of an education center anyway. It's thanks to the goverment we have PTPTN that allows us an education and a shopping spree every new semester. Yes, it may have been an issue a few decades ago, but it’s not now. We are so ingrained with associating great personel education performance with earning capacity, that’s crap. I'm a local University graduate. So what? Is he or she destined to be the future high capacity earners? Don't think so.

Sure, they say lets vote for another government but it’s super unlikely that it’s going to change anything. It will just turn around and bite us voters again.

A country is governed by people and people by mindsets so shouldn’t we start with our mindsets then the country itself? I semi-applaud papers like Malaysiakini for upfront no holds reportage on issues in Malaysia but if all they are going to do is report problems faced without having some conscious continuous sort of plan to help solve this problems then I’d rather they not do it at all.

This issue is like any other religious organization in the whole wide universe, we as members complain about everything but the numbers of people who actually tackle the issue and come up with solutions are fare and wide in between.

Why all this self victimization?
