Drug Addiction Recovery

There’s nothing worst then having a loved one turn against you. Where once they were the most trustable persons in the world, now you constantly gauge their integrity of what they say and do. They hurt you by cheating you off your money, your time and your trust just to allow themselves access to opportunities to garner more elements to feed their addictions.

Hence, us so called victims of their manipulation constantly question how could the very person we trust and love turn into someone totally different in a negative way. Studies shown that such drug abusers actually have a twisted reality in such a way that they do not feel pain or hurt anymore; that under the influence, they have a god like perspective and aggression is usually multiplied.

Hence, it can be implied that the need for taking drugs is caused by a deep need to not feel pain and hurt; to find some form of fleeting escape from the harsh reality they face and drugs can be of a very effective in numbing reality. Soon this emotional addiction to happiness inducing drugs would soon turn to a physical need as he or she continues to consume them.

It becomes then a vicious cycle of feeling high and then a sudden lapse back to reality whereby it then instigates for new acquisition of drugs.

Drug addiction can be cured but it really depends on the drug addict him or herself and also having a support group around is indeed an invaluable asset. Yet, it’s not often that a drug addict would willingly admit that the addiction is indeed a problem hence the addict’s love ones are definitely an important factor in encouraging the addict to take the first step to recovery by admitting that such an addiction is indeed a destroying their personal well being.
