R: Slave?

Work’s alright. They give ya free breakfast and tea. It’s bliss to have hot nasi lemak at 3 in the afternoon and munching away in a cold air conditioned comfy pantry.

Yet, there’s always this thought everyday as I go to work; seeing the horde of people rushing to the LRT station, being sardine in it and looking like they just woke up from their graves.

It reminds me of those trucks where you see on the highways with tightly packed pigs snorting away and most probably heading to the slaughter house. Yet, for some, it’s a slaughter house cycle every single day.

Hell on earth?

It makes me wonder, how many of them feel like they deserve better, that they wished they had more time for their loved ones or that there has to be more to life then this. How many of them are happy during those 9 hours they spent at the office.

I can’t see, wait, I don’t want to ever see myself working as such for 20-30 years of my life like that. Since working as a temp, I never had enough time for myself to do the things I like and there’s something not fun about needing to wake up at 6 a.m. everyday.

Never, ever, cause it just scares me.
