The Advent Of Mobile Marketing

There’s much hype over internet based marketing but mobile marketing is starting to take flight. Yet, even though at such an infant stage, mobile marketing has been showing very good results in terms of market penetration and overall effectiveness of carrying the message so to speak.

Nevertheless, mobile marketing has it’s skeptics and non adopters too. Main it is due to the idea that such a method is considered too intrusive to users hence fearing that the name of the company may be jeopardize for ill respecting the privacy of their target market.

However, to circumvent the possible privacy breach, companies could offer various forms of promotions or information that could actually help the recipient of the message. Some have even started to send electronic coupons to allow the mobile user to acquire discounted services or items by showing the premium sms that he or she received.

Nevertheless, to just sms any user would be ineffective because unrelated users may embody the message as some form of spam. Hence, specific technology has to be researched and implemented to help gather enough information to properly direct such sms’s to the proper recipients.

It’s exciting then to observe how mobile marketing would grow. It could be the next great thing in the marketing industry.
