The Setting Sun

Ever chased a setting sun? I did just a few days ago. For once the haze made the angry ball look rather pretty and as such, screamed for some camwhore action. Yet my route was stuck on LRT tracks and by the time I could reach a stop, it was no where to be seen. So are some things in life… fleeting to say the least. No real life source of inspiration for the song below, just trying to write it in context with the whole chasing the sun thing.

Forgive the existent of the politically correct spelling implicit swear word below. Added just for texture sake. =D

Chase the setting sun
As everyday ends
Never mind the burns
Not as painful
Then the heartfelt yearns

Only hope dangles
On a fine string mangles
A paper a picture
Contribution disaster

Yet still you chase
Self induced solace
That one day it’s yours
Shared never to anyone

Blinded
Is what you are
Woke up
To reality rubbish
Reminded
Of truth too far
F*cked up
Broken hearts on a dish

Night is at the corner
Desperately you plead
Just a little while longer, please?

Streetlight staged sorrows
Its okay
Let’s chase it again
There’s still tomorrow

So still you chase
Self induced solace
That one day it’s yours
Shared never to anyone

Blinded
Is what I am
Woke up
To reality rubbish
Reminded
Of truth too far
F*cked up
Broken hearts on a dish
